About the Author
David Beer has served on several departmental committees, and has chaired the College of Engineering's technical writing committee at the University of Texas Austin. He is chair of the ECE Department's Technical Communication Committee. Dr. Beer is often asked to consult with high-tech industries on writing and editing matters, and gives workshops on technical communication on a regular basis in some of these companies.
David McMurray is a technical writer from industry, most recently with IBM. This combination of academic and industry perspective gives this book its broad perspective covering all aspects of writing, from academic research to effective corporate communication.
